Metallic Silhouette

Our programs and the number of attendees have grown dramatically in recent years and we have recently decided to double the number of events we hold each month.

Matches are now held on our Metallic Silhouette 100 Meter Range on the third Sundays of each month as you will see on our club Calendar of activities.

There are currently two major governing bodies; the National Rifle Association covers all types of silhouette shooting in the United States, while the International Handgun Metallic Silhouette Association (IHMSA) covers handgun silhouette shooting internationally. There are some minor differences between NRA and IHMSA rules, but it is possible to compete in both with the same equipment.

Below you will find a brief guide to the events and equipment requirements of the matches and of course first-time competitors will be given a basic introduction and safety orientation before being invited to the line.

Firing is standing, offhand. Straight wall pistol cartridges.

Targets, Cartridges, and distances are same as handguns

Smallbore Rifle & Hunting Rifle

Targets are 1/5 size NRA Silhouette

Distances are:
Chicken 40 Meters
Pigs 60 Meters
Turkey 77 Meters
Rams 100 Meter

Firing is standing, offhand.

Club Rifle

Any .22 Rimfire Rifles

1/2 Size targets

Distances are 40,50,75,100 Meters

Firing is standing, offhand.
